Fight the Good Fight!

Greetings friends,

One thing we all learn as we grow and age is that life here under the sun is not always easy. In fact, to follow Jesus is a called a fight. But it is a good fight! The apostle Paul once wrote to Timothy, his young protégé, the following exhortation:

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. — 1 Timothy 6:12

As I write this to you, I feel a little bit drained and low on energy. It's been a long few months this fall and I feel a bit poured out. Ironically, it's that time of year where we trust the Lord together to provide for the needs of our ministry. Year end donations and support made up 41% of our income last year so it is a very important season for us. It is a time to trust. It is a time to pray. It is a time to thank God for the many ministry opportunities we have together. It is also a time to fight off lethargy and get to work! 

I don't know what you are facing today or what your fight is. But I do pray that you would fight the good fight and stay focused on the upward calling of God in Christ Jesus. As we head into the advent season I am reminded that Jesus went to battle for us. He gave everything so that we might have everything in him.
